Though Switch Hits stocks over 160,000 switchplates that are ready to ship, made-to-order items are not kept in stock but made to order once we receive an order for them. Generally, it is because of the hundreds of different pattern and color combinations that are available. For example,
the KYM Art Nouveauish line has 480 different variables in one design alone.
When Will Made-to-Order Items Ship?
We list all shipping time frames at each item. Some artists make and ship made to order items within 1 week while another artist takes up to 8 weeks for his handmade, one of a kind pieces. The average is 2-3 weeks, but again, this is listed at the various items you order.
Made-to-Order items generally come from small studios where the artists much prefer working their craft rather then answering shipping questions. Hence, we're sorry, but we can not be specific about shipping dates with made-to-order items.
Made-to-Order Return Policy
Because of so many
variables and the difficulty of reselling particular designs
in particular colors, we had to establish a special
made to order return policy. As a result, items listed as Made-to-Order
for the product description are returnable with the following
restocking charges per each item returned less shipping charges.

we know you deserve and will like them. Just use
a bit of caution when you first order -- order one or two
of the style and colors you like. When you receive your first
shipment and absolutely love them, you can then order for
the rest of your home without any trepidation.
