When considering defects, please remember Switch Hits specializes in handcrafted items. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, variations in cut, finish, and color are common and should be expected -- each one a unique piece of art. When variation is common in a particular line, we do our best to keep as consistent as possible.Again, because of the handmade nature of so many of our lines, having a uniformed, manufactured look is not possible for certain designs.
Screw Holes Not Lining Up
Before you return an item because the screw holes don't match your switches, please try one exercise. With the switchplate off, loosen the screws of the switch or outlet just a bit. You'll notice the switch has 1/4" of play from right to left. So, for a double switch, that means 1/2" of variance.
With the screws still loose a bit, put the switchplate on loose and start every screw. You may have to move the switch a bit to get the screws to line up. Rotate tightening each screw, as you would on a car tire. Voila...that should work.
