Back in the 1960s, millions of homes were equipped with GE Low Voltage Electrical Systems. Basically, a transformer in the attic or basement changes the 120 volt line voltage to 24 volts. A relay actually controls the light, and is activated by the contact on the rocker switch. These switches take special switchplates which are no longer made or commercially available…until now.
